AED 811: Exquisite Corpse

After reading "My Metamorphic Avatar Journey" by C. Liao, I was forced to think about societal expectations of the female and male bodies; this paired with "Comfortable 50 People 1 Question" by the Jubilee Project on Soundcloud, I wanted to create a piece that showed societal demands while juxtaposing this idealized female body with critical and bossy text. So many women look down on themselves for not meeting this unrealistic projection. We see, listen to, and watch so many ridiculous things in our lives intertwined with the visual culture of celebrities, reality tv, fads on Instagram, and idols on social media. I feel as though the dialogue and media sharing is getting more extreme and demanding as the digital age progresses and will prove harmful to our children growing up seeing this too. Why do we hate our differences to much? Why would we want to look this way?
